![]() It wasn't just like, oh here is an alternate theory built on kind of spurious grounds, I don't really buy it but whatever. If she's cis or trans, it doesn't make her any less of a popular or important character. That seems hypocritical, doesn't it? It doesn't actually matter. ![]() The point is, if a character doesn't have anything pre-established in canon it would be fair game to suddenly make the character gay as people don't have a tag with their name and sexual orientation in their chest. be homosexual? Sure! Why not?! There is nothing in canon material that could say otherwise!!! (I might be wrong with some of the names in the list as I don't know all of the canon material on every single character). Could Mace Windu, Yoda, Palpatine, Count Dooku, Chewbacca, Snoke, Hux, Cptn Phasma, Kylo Ren, Poe Dameron, Wedges Antilles, R2-D2, C-3PO, Darth Bane, Bariss, Luminara Unduli, the Grand Inquisitor, etc. Would it make sense making Ahsoka Lesbian? No, because she clearly had a crush on Lux Bonteri. What if they decided to make Obi-Wan gay? or Anakin? Would it make sense? No, because their canon stories gave them female love interests. What I would have something against is changing a character's pre-established sexual orientation just because it's trendy to have gay heroes. I don't mind homosexual characters in Star Wars at all, after all gay people exist and if they want to feel represented in the saga they love that's great, I have nothing against that. Heir to the Jedi Spoilers, but it confirms that Luke is attracted to women and is not gay. In the book "Heir to the Jedi", which was released on March 2015 and is part of the new canon, a female character by the name of Nakari Kelen is introduced as a love interest of Luke. but the EU, and I mean the canon EU, not the Legends stuff, confirms Luke as a straight man. Stop reading into bullshit, and stop posting bullshit. Seriously, he just said the polite "maybe / maybe not" that all actors use to evade questions like this. But the point was that, gay or straight, anyone can be a hero. Obviously, considering he had a massive chub for his sister and the high likelihood of Rey being his daughter, he's probably straight. He also wasn't going to say "no he has a daughter duh". That implies NOTHING about his sexuality and nothing about Reys parentage. What he said was his sexuality isn't important to the character's actions that we have seen so far. If he did, the media would fill with shit saying he's a homophobe, Star Wars is anti gay, basically just as many shit posts as people now saying Luke is gay. Mark Hamill isn't going to go any say "NO HES NOT GAY" about something where there is no exact and clear canon proof yet (for example, having a wife or proven child).
